High Visibility Reflective Safety Clothing
Today, more than ever, work place safety a priority. We are proud to offer a complete line of Red Kap and Portwest Enhanced Visibility apparel and High Visibility Safety Clothing that meets ANSI safety specifications. The merge of the ANSI/ISEA 107 (roadway) and ANSI/ISEA 207 (public safety) standards, created the need for garment type classification based on the work environment and the level of protection needed (explained at bottom of this page). Hi Vis apparel is a must for workers in general construction, road construction, utility workers, roadside assistantce, and warehouse workers just to name a few occupations. The need to be seen is critical for worker safety. Don't take a chance, order today. ANSI 107-2015 ratings are explained below.

ANSI 107-2015 Compliant High Visibility Safety Apparel (HVSA)
Red Kap Hi-Vis offers hi-visibility apparel solutions for many occupations such as construction, utility, transportation, police, emergency medical services and airport ramp personnel ... essentially any occupation required to work in conditions of low visibility. Our product lineup includes ANSI 107-2015 compliant and enhanced visibility shirts, jackets and vests. ANSI 107 is voluntary standard. It is a specification for the construction of effective high visibility safety apparel. ANSI/ISEA 107 garments may be used to comply with Federal Regulations. No matter which product you choose, rest assured that Red Kap Hi-Vis will always put the safety of your workforce first.
Performance Class 1 - ANSI Type O (off road)
Performance Class 1 offers the minimum amount of high visibility materials to differentiate the wearer from non-complex work environments and is only appropriate for off-road environments, in scenarios in which the struck-by hazards will not be approaching at roadway speeds, and therefore operative detection and identification distances. Examples of workers who may need Type O apparel include: Warehousing, Workers retrieving shopping carts from parking areas, Workers exposed to the hazards of warehouse equipment traffic, Workers in oil and gas extraction, Refiner workers, Mining, Parking/Service location workers, General construction (not roadway).
Performance Class 2 - ANSI Type R (roadway)
Performance Class 2 is considered the minimum level of protection for workers exposed to roadway rights-of-way and temporary traffic control zones with near traffic traveling in excess of 25 mph but less than 50 mph. Garments will have additional amounts of high-visibility materials that allow for better definition of the human form. Performance Class 2 HVSA have the potential to provide longer detection and identification distances, and increased conspicuity performance compared to Performance Class 1. Examples of workers who may need Type R apparel include: Towing operators, Roadway construction workers, Delivery vehicle drivers, Parking and/or toll gate personnel, Airport baggage handlers/ground crew, Railway Workers, School crossing guards, & Trash collection and recycling operations.
Performance Class 3 - ANSI Type R (roadway)
Performance Class 3 provides a greater level visibility protection for workers that are near traffic traveling in excess of 50 mph and who must focus their attentinon on the work and not traffic. Designed for workers who work in both complex backgrounds and who need a full range of movement by the required placement of background, and combined performance materials on the sleeves and pant legs. Class 3 garments are required to have a minimum amount of high visibility material compared to Class 2. A garment or vest without sleeves worn alone is NOT considered Class 3 protection. Examples of workers include: Highway Road Side Assistance, Roadway construction personnel and flaggers, Utility workers, & Survey crews.
Supplemental ANSI Class E
Class E apparel includes pants, bib overalls, and shorts. These garments are not compliant when they are worn alone, though, when combined with Class 2 or Class 3 apparel, the combination satisfies Class 3 requirements.
Enhanced Visibility
Enhanced Visibility is NOT the same as High Visibility. The term enhanced visibility can be used for any garment of any color that has retro-reflective striping added to it in any configuration. These garments are not typically ANSI compliant and are for workers in lower risk environments. These workers can still benefit from the extra security of heightened visibility in low light conditions.

INTRODUCTION TO THE ANSI HI-VISIBILITY STANDARD
The ANSI/ISEA 107 American National Standard for High-Visibility Safety Apparel and Accessories is a voluntary standard with guidelines that provide practical instruction regarding both reflective material and garment design to enhance worker visibility. ANSI/ISEA 107 presents three performance classes of garments and identifies garment types based on expected use settings and work activities being performed. These are designated as off-road (type O), roadway and temporary traffic control (type R), or public safety activities (type P). Construction, maintainence, utility, emergency responders, warehouse, airport ramp personnel and many categories of off- road workers are routinely exposed to potential injury hazards from their low visibility while on the job.
This standard provided guidelines for the selection and use of high-visibility safety apparel and other high-visibility accessories to improve worker visibility during the day, in low-light conditions, and at night.
The three classes are defined by the minimum amount of background and retro-reflective material, the configuration of the retro-reflective material, as well as other technical garment design requirements. A wearer shall select which class they wear based upon their own risk assessment.
